O My another sunday and your laying in bed and church starts in one hour “no way i will never make it” you say to yourself “and if I do make it ,it will be just like the other Sundays where I am that person that walks in late and has to say excuse me to a whole row of senior citizens or a family of five that have just got the kids to quiet down and here you come barreling down the row finding that seat so you can sit there for an hour to hear the preacher tell you about the message today and its all on “Preparation procrastination and the tardiness of the spirit”" as you let out a small sigh you look down to your hands and you realize you had forgotten your bible Perfect this sermon is aimed right at you and as you begin to sweat you feel like the church is looking at you and they know this sermon is for you. And that’s when you wake up and smile it was just a dream as you look over you realize not only are you late but you wont make it in time to see the janitor lock up for the day. Good thing for you God does house calls, all you need is a quiet room a bible and some alone time God will do the rest. Church is where you gain support and knowledge it is not the place where you become a better spiritual person that is on your time. Church is school for the human to learn more about God and to fellowship with other like-minded believers. A quiet anywhere is the place you go to strengthen your walk with God so anywhere will do here are a couple of Places God has agreed to meet you. Airplane Toilet, Outhouse, Bus terminal Toilet, telephone booth, Dark scary dungeon, in a field, in a car, at a stop light, cold food isle at food lion, right after you alarm goes off in the morning and pretty much any place that you are willing to give him a little bit of one on one time. So there are 3 things that will assist you in your everyday spiritual journey one being fellowship two being alone time and three is the one you should be excited to do is practical application. For me I Love Practical Application of the teachings of Jesus Christ in my everyday life. Nothing is more rewarding to me then to apply self-control and patience Please enjoy my story lol.
As I feel my hair prickly and my skin crawl as the beautiful poetic curse words begin to form from my mouth in a symphony of 4 letter scrabble words as some guy cuts me off in traffic and then drives 10 miles under the speed limit in front of me for 15 miles..and wouldn’t you know it he gets a blow out (flat tire) right in front of me and has to pull over off the road. Inside I am swelling with joy and happiness thanking God for this man’s misfortune as I slow down and start to pull past his car I see it is an old man and he has those breathing tubes in his nose. Instantly my attitude changes I feel like a dirt bag for being mean I pull in front of his car and get out and I helped the old man change his tire and then the old man said to me “its nice to see young folk like you doing good things for old folk like me” and he handed me 50 dollars I thanked him for the money and told him it wasn’t necessary and he insisted so I folded the 50 dollars and as I helped him back into the driver’s seat I purposely dropped the 50 dollars on his car seat. As the old man pulled into traffic without looking and almost causing an accident I realized I was not mad at the old man for driving like he did I was in fact unhappy with myself and some of the choices I had made in the past and they had been very heavy on my mind and my patience was running low.
Taking out my frustrations on another person seemed like the way to go but I was wrong, it was a monday and it would be 2 days till bible study what should I do? and then I remember it’s cool God makes house calls! I felt good i felt like the good Samaritan and the reward for helping the old man was much greater than laughing at him and driving bye him with the feeling of you got yours sucker!! So if you ever feel like your running on empty and you need a spiritual recharge stop right where you are an close your eyes God makes house calls.

God is in the the little things and the big things. our challenge is to get outside of ourselves so we can see him. listen to him. feel His presence. take the opportunities He places right in front of us that show the world how Great He is. He will never leave us or forsake us.
